Rental Guidelines and Rates

1. COVID - 19 / MCO/ RMCO - Compliance with Government Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

All persons booking the hall will have to strictly comply with Government SOP for social and religious events. The Ashrama will not be responsible for any changes and cancellation of events due to conditions imposed by the Authorities, in general or specific to our facilities. 

On the capacity please check with our office. This may vary according to SOP issued by the Government. Changes to capacity and other terms may vary between dates of making the booking and event. The Ashrama takes no responsibility for any cost and inconvenience caused by these changes, if any.

The following rates are applicable for 2022 & 2023 : 
2. Depending on availability of space, areas to serve food will be arranged separately (RM300)
3. Payment Terms : -


a) Deposit of RM500 is to be paid to book the hall and Rental Agreement should be signed. 

b) Deposit refund, net of cost of damages, if any, will be refunded the month immediately following the month of function.

c) The Management reserves the right to deduct from deposit the cost of damages as determined by the Management for damages to properties. If the cost exceeds RM500, the person signing the Rental Agreement is responsible to pay the additional amount.

d) All rental payments to be settled in full one (1) month before the event date. Failing to comply may risk cancellation of booking.

e) All rental payments to be settled in full one (1) month before the function.

f) Cheques are to be made payable to “The Vivekananda Ashrama Kuala Lumpur“.

g) Post-dated cheques are not acceptable.

h) For cancellation of bookings made 2 months before function date, the deposit will be refunded after deducting RM100 as “Administration Fees”. Deposit will be forfeited for cancellation within a month of function and cancellation between 2 months and 1 month will be subject to penalty of 50% of the deposit.

4. Sound System and Lighting

Sound system and stage lighting facilities include 6 microphones on stage and 2 wireless mics, projector and motorised screen. Screen display material can be connected via HDMI cable. These will be managed centrally by our technician. We do not provide emcee/DJ. 


5. Food and Beverage :  -

Liquor (including beer, champagne and wine) is not allowed to be brought in or consumed in the hall and within school compound. Smoking is not allowed within the school compound. A breach of this will result in forfeiture of deposit.

6)   Other Matters : -

a) Party poppers and confetti are not allowed inside the hall .


b) For decorations (morning function), the hall will be opened at 6.00 am. For evening functions, the hall will be opened at 3.00 pm.

c) Please ensure that the decorations must not cause damage to the fixtures in the hall and must be removed and cleaned after the function.

d) No nails, hooks, staples, screws are to be used in the hall, especially on the stage, curtains, walls and ceiling.

7)   General : -

a) You are encouraged to view the Hall prior to booking to assess the suitability of the hall for your event. 

b) If the above terms and conditions are not met, the Management reserves the right to forfeit your deposit. For other conditions, please read the “Rental Agreement” which takes precedent.
